Reverse description Central field features the Imperial double-headed eagle displayed, with wings spread and heads facing outward to either side, surmounted by a single Imperial crown above the central axis. The plumage is rendered in the vigorous late Renaissance style characteristic of Rhenish municipal coinage of the period. A circular Latin legend surrounds the eagle within a beaded border, referencing the Holy Roman Imperial authority under whose aegis the city issued its coinage.
