Reverse description Plain white paper bearing the guarantee clause of the cheque in printed Cyrillic letterpress, with cursive manuscript entries. The text affirms that the cheque is secured by funds held on current account at the Vladikavkaz Branch of the State Bank, that it circulates on a par with State credit notes, and will be exchanged for national credit notes at the earliest opportunity. The printed designations Управляющий (Manager) and Контролёр (Controller) appear below the clause, each accompanied by a manuscript signature.

Comments

The Vladikavkaz Branch of the State Bank was one of dozens of regional institutions that resorted to local emission during the Civil War years, when central supply had broken down entirely and the White-controlled North Caucasus was cut off from Bolshevik printing infrastructure. These branch issues were stopgap measures — printed locally with whatever means were available, often on poor stock with rudimentary typesetting.

The S-prefix in the Pick reference places this squarely in the Russian Civil War regional issues, a notoriously complex series where attribution is frequently contested and forgeries are not uncommon among the more obscure denominations.
