| Reverse description | The reverse presents a detailed relief depiction of the main headquarters building of the Federal Security Service (FSB) situated on Lubyanskaya Square in Moscow, rendered with architectural precision. Above the building, set against a matte field, is a colored image of the official emblem of the Counterintelligence Service of the FSB. A circumferential relief legend, divided by a point, reads: '100-ЛЕТИЕ ОБРАЗОВАНИЯ В СОСТАВЕ ОТЕЧЕСТВЕННЫХ ОРГАНОВ БЕЗОПАСНОСТИ КОНТРРАЗВЕДЫВАТЕЛЬНЫХ ПОДРАЗДЕЛЕНИЙ' (The 100th Anniversary of the Establishment of Counterintelligence Units within National Security Agencies), commemorating the centenary of this branch of the Russian security services. |

The "Top Secret" series, issued by the Bank of Russia, commemorates the history of Russian foreign intelligence — specifically the SVR RF and its Soviet predecessor, the KGB's First Chief Directorate. The 2022 installment falls during the same year Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, a geopolitical rupture that prompted sweeping Western sanctions targeting Russian financial institutions, including restrictions affecting the Bank of Russia itself.
Collector demand outside Russia for this series dried up almost entirely after February 2022.
