Obverse description The obverse features the double-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished field, with wings displayed and talons outstretched. The denomination ТРИ РУБЛЯ (Three Roubles) is inscribed in large Cyrillic characters around the upper periphery, split to either side of the eagle's heads. The legend БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) arcs below the eagle, flanked by a fine inner ring of beads. The date 2009 г. appears prominently in the lower field, while the fineness mark Ag 925, the weight indicator 31.1, and the Moscow Mint (ММД) privy mark are discretely placed in the lower left and right portions of the field respectively.
