| Obverse description | The obverse features the double-headed eagle emblem of the Russian Federation in high relief at centre, displayed with wings spread and devoid of crowns, sceptre, or orb in the simplified post-Soviet style. A dotted inner border encircles the central device. The denomination ТРИ РУБЛЯ (Three Roubles) arcs across the upper field in Cyrillic, while БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) is inscribed in the lower field. The date 2006 Г. appears along the bottom rim, flanked by the fineness mark АГ 900 to the lower left and the weight designation 31,1 to the lower right, with the Saint Petersburg Mint privy mark (СПМД) also present in the field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a bimetallic composition combining a silver field with an inset gold insert. The upper portion of the silver field depicts a detailed architectural elevation of the State Tretyakov Gallery's façade in Moscow, rendered in fine engraved lines showing the neo-Russian style building with its characteristic pointed gables, arched windows, and decorative stonework. At centre, a rectangular inset of .900 gold bears a finely modelled bust portrait of Pavel Mikhailovich Tretyakov, founder of the gallery, facing three-quarters to the left with a full beard, rendered in warm relief against the gold field. The inscription АU 900 1,55 appears to the right of the portrait within the gold insert. The curved legend ГОСУДАРСТВЕННАЯ ТРЕТЬЯКОВСКАЯ ГАЛЕРЕЯ (State Tretyakov Gallery) is inscribed along the lower arc of the silver field in Cyrillic characters. |
