Obverse description At the centre of the obverse, the State Emblem of the Bank of Russia — a double-headed eagle with wings lowered — is depicted within a beaded inner circle. A curved legend below the eagle reads «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA). The outer legend along the upper rim reads «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE ROUBLES), while the lower rim bears the year of issue «2001». To the left of the eagle, the metal designation and fineness «Ag 900» are inscribed in the field; to the right, the fine metal content «31,1» and the Saint Petersburg Mint mark «СПМД» appear.
