| Obverse description | At centre, the Russian state emblem in the form of a plain double-headed eagle with wings displayed, set within a dotted inner circle. The denomination ТРИ РУБЛЯ (Three Roubles) arcs along the upper field, and the issuer's name БАНК РОССИИ (Bank of Russia) curves along the lower portion of the inner circle, with the date 2001 Г. inscribed below. To the lower left of the eagle, the alloy designation Ag 900 appears in the field, while the weight indicator 31.1 and the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) are positioned to the lower right.
