The Terek-Daghestan Territory was a short-lived anti-Bolshevik administrative entity in the North Caucasus, and its currency issues reflect that instability directly. When central supply lines collapsed in 1918, local authorities across the former Russian Empire began printing their own money out of necessity rather than political ambition — this note is a product of that scramble.
The territory itself ceased to exist within months of these notes entering circulation, absorbed into the chaos of competing White, Bolshevik, and nationalist forces fighting across the Caucasus. Notes from this issuer rarely survived in quantity.
