Obverse description The State Emblem of the USSR — a globe encircled by wheat sheaves tied with a ribbon, surmounted by a five-pointed star, and bearing a hammer and sickle device at centre — occupies the upper portion of the obverse field. Below the emblem, the Cyrillic inscription 'СССР' (USSR) is rendered in bold block lettering. The denomination '3' appears prominently in large numerals at centre, followed by 'РУБЛЯ' beneath. The date '1988' is inscribed along the lower rim. To the lower left of the denomination, the fineness mark 'Ag 900' and weight indication '32,1' are noted, with the Moscow Mint monogram 'ММД' appearing to the lower right.
