Obverse description The obverse features the State Emblem of the Russian Federation — a double-headed eagle displayed, each head surmounted by a crown, with a central shield bearing the equestrian figure of St. George slaying a dragon. The eagle holds an orb in its right talon and a sceptre in its left. The Cyrillic legend РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ arcs along the upper periphery, while БАНК РОССИИ, 3 РУБЛЯ, and the date 2016 г. are inscribed along the lower field. The alloy designation Ag 925 appears to the lower left and the weight indicator 31,1 to the lower right, accompanied by the Saint Petersburg Mint monogram (СПМД).
