Obverse description Central device features the Russian State emblem — a plain double-headed eagle with wings displayed, without crowns, orb, or sceptre, as used on Bank of Russia issues of this period, struck in high relief against a mirror-polished field. The denomination '3 РУБЛЯ' arcs along the upper periphery and the date '1996г.' descends along the right, while the issuer legend 'БАНК РОССИИ' curves along the lower periphery. The fineness designation 'Ag 900' appears to the lower left of the eagle and the weight '31,1' to the lower right, flanking the Moscow Mint monogram (ММД) at the base. A continuous inner border of raised beads frames the central design, separating it from the flat outer rim.
