Obverse description At the centre of the obverse, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia is depicted with wings lowered, enclosed within a beaded circle. The upper legend reads «ТРИ РУБЛЯ» (THREE ROUBLES) and the year of issue «2001» appears along the lower rim. To the left of the central device, the metal purity designation «Ag 900» is inscribed, while to the right the fine metal content and the Saint Petersburg Mint mark «СПМД» are noted. The semicircular inscription «БАНК РОССИИ» (BANK OF RUSSIA) curves beneath the eagle within the beaded circle.
