Obverse description At centre, the two-headed eagle emblem of the Bank of Russia, wings lowered, serves as the principal device within a beaded circle. The upper legend reads 'ТРИ РУБЛЯ' (Three Roubles) and the lower legend bears the year of issue '2003', both arranged along the rim. To the left of the eagle, the metal purity designation 'Ag 900' is inscribed, while to the right appear the fine metal content '31,1' and the Moscow Mint monogram 'ММД'. The semicircular inscription 'БАНК РОССИИ' (Bank of Russia) curves beneath the eagle within the beaded circle.
