| Reverse description | The reverse features a vivid polychrome colored depiction of Lake Baikal, the world's deepest freshwater lake, rendered in an artistic landscape composition. In the central and left portions of the field, the iconic Shamanka Rock (Shaman Rock) rises dramatically from the calm blue waters of the lake, its rugged stone face faithfully reproduced in sculpted relief and color. To the right, a tall Siberian pine tree stands on a rocky shoreline, its foliage rendered in natural greens against a distant mountain backdrop and pale blue sky. In the lower right quadrant, a black silhouette map of Lake Baikal is incused into the field, indicating the lake's distinctive crescent shape. The Cyrillic legend СИМВОЛЫ РОССИИ arcs along the upper field, with the secondary inscription озеро БАЙКАЛ (Lake Baikal) prominently displayed in the lower central field. |

| Additional information |
Issued under the Bank of Russia's long-running colored commemorative program, this piece marks Lake Baikal — a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996 and home to roughly 20% of the world's unfrozen surface fresh water. The colored enamel application was applied post-strike at the Moscow Mint, a technique Russia began deploying on collector silvers in the early 2000s.
Baikal sits in a seismically active rift zone and is estimated at 25–30 million years old, making it the world's oldest extant lake by a considerable margin.
