Reverse description The reverse features a central allegorical composition depicting a stylized winged torch or eternal flame rising from a pedestal, its broad wings spread across the field as a symbol of compassion and renewal, set against a backdrop of mountain peaks evoking the Armenian landscape. Flanking the central motif at lower left and right are scenes of earthquake devastation rendered as collapsed architectural fragments and rubble, emphasizing the catastrophic nature of the 1988 Spitak earthquake. The name АРМЕНИЯ (Armenia) is prominently inscribed in Cyrillic above the central design, while the curved legend ЗОНА ЗЕМЛЕТРЯСЕНИЯ·МИЛОСЕРДИЯ·СОЗИДАНИЯ arcs along the upper periphery. The date of the earthquake, 7.12.1988, appears in the lower exergue, completing the commemorative narrative of disaster, mercy, and reconstruction.
