Reverse description The reverse commemorates the 400th anniversary of Philipps-Universität Marburg, founded in 1527. The field is divided into six panels arranged in a grid: the upper-left panel depicts a crowned lion passant, the upper-right panel bears a large six-pointed star, the center panel features a heraldic lion rampant, the lower-left panel displays three decorative six-pointed stars, and the lower-right panel shows a lion passant to the right. The inscriptions MARBURG and 1527-1927 appear in a panel to the upper right, while PHILIPPS UNIVERSITÄT is inscribed across the lower-left panel. The Berlin mint mark 'A' appears at the bottom center.
