Obverse description At center, the heraldic eagle of Magdeburg displayed on a pointed shield, with wings spread and head turned to the right, set against a stylized quatrefoil background design in the field. The mint mark 'A' appears above the shield at the upper edge of the inner design. A beaded inner border frames the central motif, with the circular legend reading around the periphery. The overall design is executed in a refined Art Deco style characteristic of Weimar Republic coinage.
