Obverse description The Weimar Republic eagle displayed with wings spread occupies the central field, facing upward with beak open. The mint mark 'A' and the word 'PROBES' (probe/pattern designation) appear below the eagle at the base. The peripheral legend 'DEUTSCHES REICH 1931' arcs along the upper rim, while 'DREI REICHSMARK' runs along the lower rim, all separated by small floral ornaments. A beaded border frames the entire design.
