Obverse description Central field occupied by the crowned Royal Arms of Spain, a quartered shield displaying the castles of Castile and the lions of León, surmounted by a royal crown. A circular legend in Latin runs along the periphery, interrupted by pellet stops. The date appears in the lower exergue area, below the shield, flanked by small ornamental stops.
