Reverse description Rectangular reverse displaying four large Han characters arranged vertically in two columns within a recessed rectangular frame. The inscription reads '嗣德年造' (Tự Đức năm tạo), indicating manufacture during the reign of Emperor Tự Đức. The characters are boldly cast in a style consistent with Vietnamese imperial monetary production of the mid-nineteenth century, with the field exhibiting the rough, granular surface typical of cast silver coinage of this period.
