Obverse description Central field features a crowned quartered shield bearing the Kettler dynastic arms, with an elaborate crowned monogram of Friedrich Casimir at the centre of the escutcheon. The shield is flanked by decorative foliate or chain-like ornaments. The denomination numeral 3 appears at the base of the design within or immediately below the shield. The surrounding legend is divided by the shield elements and reads in Latin, giving the duke's abbreviated titles.
