| Obverse description | Central field depicts the arms of Wismar: a crowned heart-shaped cartouche bearing a cross, supported by a standing figure, set against a draped shield with a dotted mantle to the left and a structured rectangular element to the right. The composition is rendered in fine relief with careful detail to the heraldic ornaments. A circular legend in Latin reads MONETA NOVA WISMARIENSIS around the periphery, separated by a period. The coin's border is defined by a continuous ring of milled beads. |

| Reverse description | The reverse displays the denomination and date in three horizontal lines across an otherwise plain field: the numeral 3 at top, followed by PFENNINGE in the centre, the date 1854 below, and the mintmaster's initial S at the base. The lettering is bold and well-spaced in a classical serif style. The border is defined by a continuous ring of milled beads consistent with the obverse. |
