Obverse description Central field displays a large Gothic script initial 'F' for Duke Frederick III, set within an ornate cartouche and surmounted by a ducal crown rendered in relief. Decorative foliate flourishes flank the monogram on either side. The design occupies most of the coin's field, with a plain inner border enclosed by a beaded outer border.
