Obverse description Crowned interlaced royal cypher of Bishop Frederick Christian of Plettenberg-Mietingen occupying the central field, rendered in a decorative monogram style with elaborate flourishes. The cypher is surmounted by a bishop's crown, with the interlaced letters elegantly intertwined. The field is plain, with no surrounding legend on this side.

Obverse lettering MUNSTRISCHE SCHEID MUNTZ * III PFEN * 1703
Reverse description Central field bears the bold Roman numeral denomination 'III' above the abbreviation 'PFEN', with the date below, all within a plain field. The circular legend reading 'MUNSTRISCHE SCHEID MUNTZ' runs around the periphery, identifying this as a Münster small change coin. Small decorative stops separate portions of the legend. The overall design is utilitarian in character, typical of small copper scheidemünze coinage of the early eighteenth century.
