| Obverse description | Central field features an ornate interlaced crowned cypher composed of the initials F, A, and W, rendered in an elaborate Baroque calligraphic style with foliate scrollwork flourishes to either side. The cypher, likely standing for Friedrich Alexander of Wied, is surmounted by a small open coronet. No peripheral legend is present; the design fills the field with decorative interlace typical of German minor coinage of the mid-eighteenth century. |
