Obverse description Central field features an ornate interlaced crowned cypher composed of the initials F, A, and W, rendered in an elaborate Baroque calligraphic style with foliate scrollwork flourishes to either side. The cypher, likely standing for Friedrich Alexander of Wied, is surmounted by a small open coronet. No peripheral legend is present; the design fills the field with decorative interlace typical of German minor coinage of the mid-eighteenth century.

Reverse description The reverse displays the denomination III in large Roman numerals at the top of the field, flanked by two small rosette or floral ornaments. Below in two lines appears the inscription PFENNING / LAND·MVNZ, identifying the coin as local territorial currency, with the date 1753 at the bottom of the field. A small fleur-de-lis or arrow-head ornament appears below the date. The lettering is bold and upright in the style of contemporary German provincial coinage.
