| Obverse description | The obverse features a large cursive royal cipher 'F' (for Friedrich Karl August, Prince of Waldeck-Pyrmont) prominently occupying the central field, rendered in an ornate script style. A princely crown surmounts the monogram, depicted with pearls and cross finial in the traditional heraldic manner. The field is otherwise plain with no surrounding legend, lending the design a bold, uncluttered appearance characteristic of late 18th-century German petty coinage. The die work is attributed to engraver Philipp Steinmetz of the Arolsen Mint. |
