Obverse description Quartered coat of arms of Mansfeld displayed prominently in the field, surmounted by an elaborate crowned helmet with ornate mantling. The shield is divided into four quarters bearing the characteristic horizontal bars and charges of the Mansfeld comital family. The overall heraldic composition is rendered in the late German Renaissance style typical of early seventeenth-century hammered coinage.
