Obverse description Interlaced cursive monogram of Bishop Clemens August, composed of the intertwined initials C and A with elaborate Baroque flourishes and foliate scrollwork filling the field on either side. The monogram is surmounted by an ornate episcopal crown rendered in high relief, occupying the upper portion of the flan. The design is unlettered, with the crowned cypher presented as the sole device against a plain field.
