Obverse description Central field displays the Saxon coat of arms, a quartered shield bearing alternating horizontal barry lines and a diagonal bend charged with three roundels (representing the Rautenkranz), rendered in fine engraved detail. The shield is presented without supporters in a plain bordered frame. The curved legend 'S.W.U.E.' (Sachsen-Weimar und Eisenach) arcs across the upper portion of the field, separated from the shield by a raised rim.

Reverse description Plain field bearing the denomination numeral '3' prominently at center top, below which the inscription 'PFENNIGE' curves across the middle of the field in bold capital letters, with the date '1804' displayed beneath in large numerals. A short horizontal rule separates the date from the lower rim. The design is simple and utilitarian, typical of early nineteenth-century German petty coinage, with all elements in relief against an unadorned flat field.
