Obverse description Central field displays the quartered arms of the city of Paderborn — featuring a cross in the upper half and vertical bars (pales) in the lower half — set within a baroque ornamental frame and enclosed by a beaded inner circle. The shield is rendered in a bold, somewhat naive relief characteristic of early seventeenth-century municipal coinage. A circular legend in Latin runs between the beaded inner border and the outer rim.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering STADT. PAD(E)(I)RBORN.
