Obverse description Quartered electoral shield of arms surmounted by an elector's cap, the date divided on either side of the shield within a circular legend. The arms display the traditional quarters of the Archbishopric of Trier, rendered in a baroque heraldic style characteristic of early 18th-century German ecclesiastical coinage. The surrounding legend reads CHVR TR LANDMVNTZ, identifying this as a currency of the Trier electorate.
