Reverse description Central depiction of a traditional Fijian bure (native dwelling) with a steeply pitched thatched roof rendered in fine relief, flanked on either side by stylised palm trees. The country name 'FIJI' and the date of issue appear in the upper field, while the denomination 'THREE PENCE' is inscribed along the lower periphery. The composition, engraved by George James Berry, captures the vernacular architecture of the Pacific islands in a finely detailed, symmetrical design within the dodecagonal field.
