Reverse description Central design by George Kruger Gray comprising three vertically arranged assegai spears with decorative shafts, their blades pointing upward and flanked by the divided date in the lower field. The denomination 3d is placed prominently at the top of the field between the spearheads, while the circular legend SOUTHERN RHODESIA runs around the periphery, divided left and right by the spear grouping. The engraver's initials KG appear at the base of the central spear shaft.
