Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the St. Edward's Crown, rendered in the young portrait designed by Mary Gillick. The bust is lightly draped at the shoulder, with the queen's hair styled in a characteristic coiled arrangement. The circular legend QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND surrounds the effigy, with a fine dentillated border encircling the entire obverse field.
