Reverse description The numeral 3 appears at the top of the field above a stylised archaic Cypriot flying fish motif, a design derived from ancient Bronze Age art of the island. The denomination THREE MILS flanks the central device, with GOVERNMENT OF CYPRUS arching above and the date 1955 appearing in the lower exergue, all separated by cross ornaments. A beaded border frames the entire reverse design.
