| Obverse description | Central design features a detailed rendering of the Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of Nations) in Leipzig, depicted in three-quarter perspective with its monumental stepped base and arched entrance portal surmounted by a columned rotunda bearing figural sculpture at its crown. Flanking the monument are two naturalistic sprays — an olive branch to the left and an oak branch to the right — rendered in high relief against a flat field. Along the lower portion of the field, a four-line legend reads JAHRHUNDERTFEIER DER SCHLACHT BEI LEIPZIG / PATRIOTEN BUND, curved to follow the inner border of a continuous beaded rim. |
