| Obverse description | Green wavy-line guilloche underprint covers the entire face. The denomination '3 Mark' is rendered in large bold black Fraktur script at centre, with the serial number prefixed 'No.' to the lower left. A dark brown banner cartouche across the lower centre carries a Low German verse quotation attributed to Kohne. Below the cartouche, the issuing authority inscription appears in Fraktur across three lines, followed by the date 'Hannover, 1. Febr. 1922' and a manuscript signature. At the top, the appeal text 'Für des Alters Not empfing dies Geld in schwerer Zeit' is set in two lines of Fraktur letterpress. |
