Süderbrarup is a small market town in Schleswig-Holstein, a region that had just voted — narrowly, in its southern zone — to remain within Germany following the 1920 plebiscite required under the Treaty of Versailles. The timing of this Gemeinde-issued Notgeld is almost certainly not coincidental. Local authorities across the region scrambled to assert administrative normalcy and address coin shortages simultaneously, and small-denomination emergency notes were a practical tool for both.

K. Möller as designer suggests local commission rather than a specialist printing house. Worth checking whether the paper stock is consistent with Flensburg-area printing of the period.
