| Obverse description | The double-headed eagle of Lübeck occupies the central field, displayed with wings spread and talons extended, bearing on its breast a vertically striped heraldic shield representing the city's arms. The two heads face outward in opposite directions, rendered in high relief with fine feather detailing and elaborate acanthus scroll ornamentation at the base. The circumferential legend reads FREIE UND HANSESTADT LÜBECK, separated by a raised dot, with the Berlin mint mark 'A' positioned centrally below the eagle between two small dots. The coin's rim is bordered by a continuous raised beaded ring. |
