Obverse description Central shield bearing the quartered arms of the Bishopric of Paderborn, featuring the characteristic crossed keys motif, surmounted by a bishop's cross. The escutcheon is set within a plain field. The encircling legend, rendered in Latin, reads THEO. A. FURS. D. G. E. P. P., identifying the issuer as Theodor von Fürstenberg, Prince-Bishop of Paderborn, by the grace of God. The lettering is in a Gothic script typical of early seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
