| Obverse description | Central field bears the quartered heraldic shield of the Prince-Bishop of Würzburg, displaying the arms of the Bishopric and the personal arms of Johann Hartmann von Rosenbach, surmounted by a prince-bishop's mitre and flanked by decorative foliate supporters. The escutcheon features a rampant lion in one quarter and a triple-peaked mount (Frankish rake) in another, rendered in high relief in the baroque style. A circular Latin legend surrounds the shield reading IOH HART S R I P EPIS HERB F O DVX, identifying the issuer as Johann Hartmann, Prince-Bishop of Würzburg and Duke of Franconia. The coin exhibits a reeded border running along the full circumference. The overall composition is characteristic of late seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely occupied by a multi-line funerary inscription in capital Latin letters, characteristic of the Sterbegroschen (death groschen) type issued to commemorate the passing of a ruling ecclesiastic. The text records the biographical data of Johann Hartmann von Rosenbach: his birth on 15 September 1609, his election as Bishop of Würzburg on 13 March 1673, his death on 19 April 1675, and his age at death of 65 years, 7 months, and 5 days. At the base of the inscription, a crowned numeral 3 within a circle denotes the denomination of 3 Kreuzer. The lettering is bold and well-spaced within a reeded border, with dot separators between elements. The plain field and austere typographic layout are entirely consistent with commemorative memorial issues of the Holy Roman Empire. |
