Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick II (the Great) facing right, wearing a cuirass with elaborate decorative detail and a flowing mantle. The portrait is rendered in a refined Baroque style, with the king's hair dressed in the fashion of the period. The circular Latin legend FRIDERIC BORUSS REX surrounds the effigy, reading from the lower left and interrupted by the bust truncation at the base.
