Obverse description Draped bust of Frederick II (Frederick the Great) facing right, wearing an ornate cuirass with decorative scrollwork and a ribbon at the shoulder. The king's hair is styled in a curled, powdered wig typical of the mid-18th century Baroque court fashion. The denomination numeral '3' appears at the base of the bust. A Latin legend encircles the portrait within a milled border: FRIDERICUS D G REX BORUSSORUM.
