| Additional information |
Francis I spent most of his reign leaving Austrian fiscal policy to Maria Theresa, who drove aggressive monetary reform throughout the 1750s. The billon 3 Kreuzer issues of this period were workhorses of small commerce across the Habsburg hereditary lands, struck at multiple mints simultaneously — Vienna, Prague, Günzburg among them — which accounts for the mint mark variants cataloged under the KM#2015 series.
The billon content was repeatedly adjusted downward during these years as silver supplies tightened and war expenditure from the Seven Years' War strained imperial finances.
