Obverse description Laureate bust of Holy Roman Emperor Ferdinand II of Habsburg facing right, with drapery at the shoulder. The numeral '3' appears below the bust within a circle, dividing the encircling Latin legend. The privy mark 'HM' (for mintmaster Hans Matz) is positioned beneath the bust. The peripheral legend reads: FERDI II D G R I S A G H & B REX, expanding to 'Ferdinandus II Dei Gratia Romanorum Imperator Semper Augustus Germaniae Hungariae Bohemiaeque Rex.'
