Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Ferdinand II facing right, wearing a ruffled lace collar, with elaborate period armour visible at the shoulder. The numeral 3, denoting the denomination, appears prominently in the lower field beneath the bust. The surrounding circular legend reads FERD·II·D·G·R·I·S·A·G·H·B·REX, abbreviating his full imperial and royal titles in Latin. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic high-relief style of early seventeenth-century Habsburg coinage from the Breslau mint.
