Reverse description A cross pattée divides the reverse field into four quarters, with the arms of Carinthia (Kärnten) — a black panther — displayed upon the shield at center. The Latin legend is divided by the arms of the cross, reading INF H / I ARCH / HID C / ARI, abbreviated titles referencing Ferdinand I as Infante of Spain, Archduke of Austria, and Count of various territories. The date, split as 15–37 (or the relevant year within the series), appears divided at the top of the cross. The overall design is typical of the regional coinage struck at Klagenfurt for the province of Carinthia.
