Additional information

Adam Wenceslaus ruled Teschen from 1579 until his conversion to Catholicism in 1610 — a political realignment that effectively ended his independent minting program and brought the duchy into closer Habsburg orbit. These 3 Kreuzer pieces span the bulk of his Protestant reign, issued against a backdrop of the confessional tensions that would eventually ignite the Thirty Years' War a decade later. Teschen's output from this period is thinly documented, and MB#23 covers a date range suggesting multiple die marriages rather than a single unified issue.
