Additional information

Nassau was reorganized as a unified duchy only in 1806, when Napoleon consolidated the previously fragmented Nassau territories under Friedrich August. This coin belongs to the earliest phase of that unified coinage — the duchy was barely four years old when KM#30 was struck. The billon standard adopted was consistent with the broader Rhine Confederation monetary alignment, though Nassau would continue revising its coinage specifications through the 1810s as the Napoleonic system itself began to unravel.
