Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Frederick I, King of Sweden and Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel, facing right, rendered in high relief with flowing long hair beneath the laurel wreath. The portrait is boldly modelled in the Baroque tradition, with strong facial features and prominent drapery at the truncation. The circular legend reads FRIDERICUS D G REX SUECIAE, distributed around the periphery, separated by the bust. The coin is struck on a milled flan with a fine toothed border visible along the rim.
